Beach Fossils @ House of Vans 6/1

For those of you a touch unfamiliar with The House of Vans, it is described as being the place where “off the wall” lives. With locations in Brooklyn, Chicago, and London, House of Vans brings people together to celebrate art and creativity with workshops, installations and awesome live shows.

The indie-rock band Beach Fossils are from Brooklyn, so to play House of Vans will be a special show since BK is all about keeping the vibe totally local. The band’s first self-titled album was released in 2010, which was a breezy, dreamy introduction to the band’s sound–a sound that’s somehow so simplistic yet layered–but as their albums continued, the band decided to shake up their beach vibes and venture into more indie-rock territory, as heard on their EP What a Pleasure, followed by a full-length called Clash the Truth.

Just this year the band announced an upcoming album called Somersault (which will be the band’s first release on Bayonet Records, the label that lead singer Dustin Payseur founded with his wife), and they’ve already released three singles so you can get a flavor for what’s next to come. Beach Fossils continues to explore their vintage-tinted indie sound as they flood their songs with new instruments, creating a vibe that feels like a rooftop party in Brooklyn during a hot, hot summer. So get hot and beachy in BK.
