Failure appear to be working on new music to follow up their 2015 album The Heart Is A Monster – which featured their first new music in 18 years. Earlier today, the band posted a photo that indicates they are currently recording at NRG Recordings. The photo even specifies that they are working out of Studio A at the North Hollywood, Los Angeles studio.

More proof that this could potentially be a new album released in 2017 came directly from the band in a response to a fan’s question on Facebook, as uncovered by a Redditor:
With Kellii Scott replying:
And then the band’s official Facebook page:
Failure, of course, is the landmark alternative group that made their name back in the early 90s with releases such as Comfort, Magnified, and their opus, Fantastic Planet. The band consists of Ken Andrews, Greg Edwards and Scott – though Troy Van Leeuwen (Queens of the Stone Age, A Perfect Circle) and Robert Gauss have also spent time in the lineup. Citing personal differences, the band parted ways in 1997 following the release of their beloved third LP. It wasn’t until 2014 that the band was able to get back together and put together a follow-up to that seminal alternative album that has had an outsize influence on a wide expanse of underground and mainstream genres. From the band’s ashes came groups like Year of the Rabbit and Autolux.
Last we heard from the band, they had released a live album of their Fantastic Planet tour in 2016.
