LCD Soundsystem Releases A Duo of New Songs “American Dream” and “Call The Police”

With their last album effort coming in the form of a collection of live performances, LCD Soundsystem has returned with not just one, but two songs for fans to hear. The second of the two new releases, “American Dream”, came along with a video of someone playing the song on something called a record player ( just joking, maybe).

As the song begins, it is easy to see why LCD has some of the most loyal and dedicated fans in the music business. American Dream is the type of song that can bring a crowd of thousands who are spread out at a festival like Coachella together by the sing along aspect of the song. Listening to the new record gives a better understanding as to why they would make this one of the first songs released off their upcoming album via Columbia. Along with release of “American Dream”, LCD Soundsystem released more for fans.

The other song released titled “Call The Police” come along with the same video setup and a bit less enjoyment. “Call The Police” does not feature the same feeling that can unite a large group of people through singing in unison but it does provide a familiar rock vibe. In comparison, “American Dream” sounds up to date and new. Whereas “Call The Police” sounds like any rock song that came out in the early 2000s. While that is not a good thing, its more refreshing when a song feels new.

You can listen to each of the songs below to get familiar because LCD Soundsystem will be performing at the Fuji Rock Festival along with Gorillaz and Queens Of Stone Age. Also, LCD Soundsystem can be seen live performing at the Pitchfork Music Festival with artists like Solange, A Tribe Called Quest, and Vince Staples.

Gearing up for the release of a new album, LCD Soundsystem can be seen performing on Saturday Night Live Saturday, May 6th. Be on the lookout for more news as we approach an album release.

Now, after reading all of that your probably wondering, when is the album coming out? Well, fortunately there is an answer, somewhat of an answer.
