Cathedrals @ Mezzanine 6/8

Electro dance-pop duet Cathedrals are coming to San Francisco this summer! The band will be performing at the Mezzanine on June 8th. The San Francisco based band will be performing alongside Yassou and Rituals of Mine.

Cathedrals consists of singer Brodie Jenkins and musician Johnny Hwin; two California natives who formed Cathedrals back in 2014. The band’s most recent release was this year with the single Don’t Act Like A Stranger. Other than that, the band’s last collection was released in 2015 with their sophomore EP Blush. Their 2015 EP is known for the remastering and remixing of their original hits. They feature artists like Tommy English, Børns, and Clock Opera. Their debut, which was self-titled and released in 2014, has those original hit songs. Notably the songs Harlem, Want My Love, OOO AAA, and In the Dark. They also released a single in 2016 entitled Howling. Cathedrals’ music is the best of both worlds in terms of art. It’s progressive, edgy, and mixes mediums to tell a story. The voice of Jenkins is ethereal and cool; coupled with the musical mastery of Hwin their music is another level.

Fans of Grimes, Glass Animals, and CHVRCHES will be into this show. This band is super cool and is doing music in a way a lot of other bands are. Cathedrals’ ability to layer vocals, instrumentals, and art? Unbelieveable. Take a listen on their Spotify and grab a ticket for a good time!
