Day 2 of the High Water Festival was time for Charleston to truly shine, with local favorites Jump, Little Children and Slow Runner making the lineup. And, of course, it was time for Shovels and Rope, the organizers of the festival, to create some onstage magic. The duo did not disappoint, with a magical chemistry that permeated through every moment of their performance. There were also some stellar collaborations, including Dawes making an appearance with Matthew Logan Vasquez for the most frenetic show of the festival. Then, The Avett Brothers closed out the High Water Festival with an incredible stream of hits from a variety of albums, followed by an encore featuring a cover of “Time” by Pink Floyd. As storms beckoned in the distance, the crowds dissipated after the last song, with a fantastic lineup behind them. This festival is incredibly promising for Charleston, projected to become the Shaky Knees of the Holy City.
