Its always a great time when new exciting announcements are made about the movements of some of the most beloved artists. The War On Drugs has announced that they will be going on a big tour in Fall 2017 this reported by PITCHFORK. Last weekend was a big day for the music industry. That is record store day. Record store day is a day when people put down their electronic devices and go out to a record store to PURCHASE music. To commemorate this annual day The War On Drugs released a single titled “Thinking Of A Place” an 11 minute track which represented a comeback for the group.
Originating in Philadelphia, The War On Drugs is an Indie Rock group that formed in 2005. The bands debut album was not released until 2008 with the followup not arriving until 2011. Band members Granduciel and Vile came up with the name over a few glasses of wine while working on a dictionary. Not the most exciting origin story considering what the words “The War On Drugs” bring to mind. Originally, they were on the verge of choosing a different band name, The Rigatoni Danzas.
The tour will start September 21st in Philadelphia and will continue to go all over America to later go over seas to perform for those fans.
