Ruth Berhe, also known as Ruth B, is a Canadain singer-songwriter hailing from Alberta. Before bursting onto the music scene, Ruth B was known for her covers on popular video platform Vine in 2013. Ruth B career took off after the release of her original song, “Lost Boy” on YouTube. Since her career began, Ruth B has released a few singles and an EP. Ruth B’s debut studio album, Safe Haven is due out in May 2017.
Ruth B attended MacEwan University but took time off to focus on her music. Ruth B started to gain a following on Vine after she released videos of her singing covers of popular songs. After making a video of her own song in 2014, Ruth B gain over a million followers within a week of its debut. The song “Lost Boy” was inspired by the popular tv show Once Upon A Time on ABC. The song was released on iTunes in February 2015. Ruth B became an overnight sensation all due to her music. The song spread across platforms with users posting their own cover of her song. Ruth B signed with Columbia Records in July 2015 after some other labels took notice of her.
On November 27, 2015, Ruth B released her debut EP, The Intro on iTunes. The tracklist had only four songs including her hit single “Lost Boy”. In early 2016, Ruth B was back in the studio working on her debut album. Ruth B has been writing music since an early age which made choosing songs for the album hard. Be on the lookout for her debut album, Safe Haven, in May.
