Coin @ The Foundry 5/5

Indie pop band Coin is coming to The Foundry this May. Since their early beginning, Coin has been one of the most popular bands to come out in the last few years. The band has been hard at work on their latest album, How Will You Know If Never Try which was released this past month. Coin is currently signed to Columbia records.

After forming in 2012 at Belmont University, Coin started playing live shows at small venues. While playing shows, Coin released an EP titled Saturdays in 2012. The EP was well received throughout the music world. A year later, Coin released the follow-up to their first EP 1992. Their hit single “Atlas” from the EP 1992 was released earlier than the album. “Time Machine” was released in late October as a single until later being put on the band’s debut studio album. In 2015, Coin released the single “Run” which received great reviews. The song played a lot on the airwaves in the summer. Towards the end of the summer, Coin released their debut self-titled album, under Columbia records.

Coin headlined their first American tour in support of their of the new album. The band sold out various shows on their tour. Coin released a single from their upcoming second album titled “Talk Too Much” in May 2016. The single debuted at number 28 on Billboard Rock Chart. The band released another single “I Don’t Wanna Dance” earlier this year. How Will You Know If Never Try, Coin’s second studio album is out now.

Donovan Wilkins: Donovan Wilkins is a self-taught photographer and published writer. He lives in Glenside after moving from his hometown of Philadelphia. After studying Liberal Arts at CCP, he decided to focus his time on his writing and photography. In 2016, Donovan completed his first feature-length screenplay, The Coast is Clear. During his career, Donovan worked on a small budget film in Philadelphia as part of a writing team. Since then, he has written various short screenplays.
