On April 28th the band Gorillaz will release their latest album called Humanz. But what they’ve done to celebrate their latest record is to create what they call “Spirit House” which is an interactive app that fans can download, go to the suggested locations that the app directs you to, and get to listen to their new tracks. In New York City, to experience this “Humanz House Party” you’ll want to head over to Bryant Park. But if you’re looking to spread the news to friends in other cities, you’ll just have to download the app, check out the website or their Facebook page.
At Rough Trade on April 25th, Gorillaz will perform an intimate show for fans, but in order to get in you must go there that afternoon (starting at 11 a.m.) and pre-purchase their album for a wristband. (Don’t get too greedy, either. It’s only one album/wristband per person.) And if that’s not awesome enough, Gorillaz will also reveal an exclusive installation of Jamie Hewlett’s original artwork over in Soho at the Sonos store. The exhibit will start on the 26th and will feature original artwork from the band that Hewlett has curated over the years.
And if that’s not enough to get super excited about, on April 27th catch The Late Show with Stephen Colbert to watch the band and their special guests Damon Albarn, Seye Adelekan, Jesse Hackett, Mike Smith, Karl Vanden Bossche, Gabriel Wallace, Jeff Wooton, and many others.
