Seether @ The Fillmore 7/27

South African rock band Seether makes their way to The Fillmore this summer. The band gained world recognition after their hit single, “Fine Again” went number one on various charts. Seether has continued to dominate the charts with hit singles. The band is currently signed to Canine Riot Records.

Seether first formed in under the name of Saron Gas in South Africa in 1999. The same year, Seether released their independent album, Fragile under the same name. The band first got their start playing at small venues, nightclubs, and events. In 2002, Seether released their official album Disclaimer. Things started to look up for Seether after the album release. The same year, the band started touring all over the world. While on tour with rock band Evanescence, Seether started working on their second studio album. Seether’s second album, Karma and Effect was released in 2005 after multiple delays. The album debuted at number 8 on US Billboard 200 Album chart. The album was certified gold the following year in North America. “Remedy”, the hit single off the album reached number one on the US Mainstream Rock Chart, officially making it Seether’s first hit single of their career.

Things continued to pick up for Seether, going back on tour to promote their album. Seether recorded their first live album in Philadelphia. Their music spread all across different platforms even making appearances on various video games. Seether won multiple awards in 2011 for their album Holding Onto Strings Better Left to Fray. Poison the Parish is Seether’s latest album, due out in May.

Donovan Wilkins: Donovan Wilkins is a self-taught photographer and published writer. He lives in Glenside after moving from his hometown of Philadelphia. After studying Liberal Arts at CCP, he decided to focus his time on his writing and photography. In 2016, Donovan completed his first feature-length screenplay, The Coast is Clear. During his career, Donovan worked on a small budget film in Philadelphia as part of a writing team. Since then, he has written various short screenplays.
