The innocent indie-punk/pop duo, Girlpool, was formed by two girls in their late teens in 2013. They started out in Los Angeles, California. While both girls do the vocals, Cleo Tucker is on guitar and Harmony Tividad is on bass. Girlpool’s overall sound consists of the duo’s soft voices that harmonize quite well together and a few guitar chords that give the tune for each song.
Girlpool has released an album, an EP and a single. Powerplant is their second record that will be released on May 12 via Anti-. Their music is completely simple, faultless and hard not to like. For some reason, their music reminds of me of the film Juno. I can easily picture Juno Macguff jamming out to Girlpool while guzzling down her Sunny D and talking to someone on her hamburger phone.
