The music scene has been struck with senseless tragedy yet again, as an acid attack has been carried out at an England nightclub that has left 12 hospitalized. On Monday morning at the Mangle E8 club in Dalston, the perpetrator sprayed multiple victims with a “strong acidic substance.” Two young victims in their twenties remain in the hospital with serious injuries but fortunatey are under stable conditions.
The bad news, however, is the suspect is still on the lose. London police officials believe it could have started following an argument broke out between two men inside the club, where one of whom might have sprayed the other with some sort of acidic substance.
“The only information that we have is that it was an unknown corrosive substance thrown within the nightclub,” said a spokeswoman for the London Fire Brigade. “It was identified by a PH paper test as a strong acidic substance.”
An estimated 400 people were evacuated from the premises after the Lovejuice party, and the surrounding streets were closed off by countless public service officials including police, firefighters, and a hazzard response team following the attack.
“It was like a war—the police were everywhere,” a witness said during an interview. “I just saw a lot of people complaining, there were a lot of staff around … a lot of people were crying.”
Condolences go out to the victims and their families who were effected by this horrendous attack.
