Tigers Jaw @ Slim’s 7/6

Indie-rock band Tigers Jaw is coming to San Francisco this summer! The duo will be playing Slim’s on July 6th. The band will be touring alongside other musical acts Saintseneca and Smidley.

The band Tigers Jaw came into the world back in 2005 on a beautiful night in Scranton, PA… just kidding but the band has been playing music together since 2005. The band began as a 5 piece, but is now composed of the vocalist and keyboardist Brianna Collins and vocalist and guitarist Ben Walsh. Tigers Jaw recently announced that their fifth studio album spin would release later this year in May of 2017. The band’s most recent release was 2014’s Charmer, which is responsible for the hit songs Hum, Nervous Kids, and Slow Come On. Previous to that, the band has launched three other albums, their 2006 debut album Belongs to the Dead, 2008’s self-titled album, and 2010’s Two Worlds. Some of their most popular songs are Never Saw It Coming, I Saw Water, Plane vs. Tank vs. Submarine, Spirit Desire (which is my personal favorite), Smile, and Lodging. Other than that Tigers Jaw has also released five other splits with various indie-rock and hardcore bands and countless singles over the years. The band’s emotional and sincere tone is refreshing. The due of Walsh and Collins keep their music honest and angst filled, but at the same time endearing and catchy. The vocals could easily be depressing or sad, but the accompanying music adds an edge, an ironic relatability in a way.

Fans of Joyce Manor, The Front Bottoms, and American Football will be down for this show. The duo of Tigers Jaw are honest, fresh, and, honestly, amazing. This was a band that kept me going back in high school and allowed for their fresh relatability to shine through. Their shows are super kickass and the band always gets the crowd into the show. So, click yes on a ticket and be ready for a show to remember!
