Futuristic @ Shoreline Amphitheatre 8/4

Up and coming rapper Futuristic is hopping on the Van’s Warped Tour this summer and is playing the Shoreline Ampitheatre. He will be playing the music festival on August 4th. The rapper will be touring with the festival for most of their stops all summer long.

Futuristic came into the rap scene in 2010 and started out in his native Arizona. The rapper has gained some extra fame for his last five singles he’s dropped over the last two years. Those songs are Wassup, Back Then, All I Do Is Rap, Epiphany, and my personal favorite Wave. The most recent album release from the rapper was 2016’s As Seen on the Internet. That album is known for the songs Nudes, Mindcraft, Anti-Social, and Do It. Previous to that, the rapper has released five other self-released albums. His grassroots following has blown up to mainstream within the past few years, hopefully following the path set by his other indie-rappers that jumped to the main stage before him. Some of the rapper’s other hits include The Greatest, I Guess I’ll Smoke, No Way, and Sub Me In. Futuristic’s rap style is borderline comedic, honest, and amazing. He plays into internet culture with his sampling of Shia LaBeouf’s “Just Do It” speech that blew up a year ago on his song. His music is, just, different in the best possible way. He maintains his indie rap credibility so well through his fantastic lyrics, catchy hooks, and the dope beat he layers over his songs.

Fans of Chance the Rapper, Hopsin, and Sam Lachow should be into this artist. His music is fresh, self-aware, ironic, catchy, and rad. He kicks ass as a rapper, so it’s only a logical train of thought to think his show will be lit. So, come find out if your gonna love this guy, but I promise you, you will.
