A bit lost in all of the buzz surrounding the headliners is the return of Lorde to the stage in North America. Not only is this the first time in years Lorde has played on this side of the Pacific (secret show and SNL notwithstanding), but during her set at Coachella, she played a new song called “Homemade Dynamite” for the first time ever.
She recently announced her first show in nearly two years, a surprise performance at Pioneertown venue Pappy & Harriet’s, just a short distance from the festival grounds for Coachella. At that show in a tiny venue she unveiled another new song, “Sober.”
The young New Zealand singer-songwriter broke out in a big way with her debut album Pure Heroine and its monster single “Royals.” After almost four years, she is back with a new single “Greenlight” and her promising sophomore album Melodrama out this summer.
Need I say more.
