Rachel Baiman Band @ FitzGerald’s (6/3)

Folk singer/songerwriter Rachel Baiman is set to perform at Fitzgerald’s June 3rd.  Her latest album, Shame, is about growing up female in America.  The album touches on tough subjects from abortion and abuse to love and sex but has a light feel to the sound. The album was made in Chapel Hill, NC after three intense days in the studio.  The 27-year old is committed to her music as well as the message behind it.

As a native of Chicago and the daughter of a social worker, Baiman was exposed to activism early in life.  She was able to find positivity in music and wanted to spread that peace of mind.  Not only does Baiman bring attention to the female cause through her music, but she also is the co-founder of a new political group.  The group – Folk Fights Back – consists of other folk artists dedicated to create awareness through benefit concerts as a direct response to the Trump administration.  Baiman states, ““I think what is happening in the country right now has really shifted my career priorities, and brought the folk music community together. We are all suddenly seeing our purpose come into focus, and feeling a renewed responsibility to be a voice of unity and resistance.”

The talented multi-instrumentalist has her plate full with her solo career and activism but she still finds time to create beautiful music with other talented artists.  She has been touring with progressive folk duo 10 String Symphony for the past four years and has played the fiddle for country sensation Kacey Musgraves.

Come out and support this amazing artist as she spreads awareness and positivity at a time when we need it most.  Ticket information below.
