Bishop Briggs Joins Banks & Steelz on Stage for “Wild Season” at Coachella 2017

While the ultimate special guest for Banks & Steelz would be Florence Welsh, who guest-appeared on the hip-hop/indie rock super-duo’s debut album, Bishop Briggs isn’t a bad consolation prize. The soulful British singer joined the group for their mid-afternoon Saturday set at Coachella 2017, performing the song “Wild Season” – which just so happens to be the song that features Welch’s vocals. It’s pretty much impossible to reach the vocal prowess of Florence Welch, but Briggs does an incredible job on the live cut.

Check out the video below:

Banks & Steelz consist of Paul Banks, frontman for New York City indie rock band Interpol and the legendary Rza of Wu-Tang Clan fame. The duo released their first album Anything But Words in 2016. The dynamic album featured moody passages from Banks, juxtaposed against RZA’s idiosyncratic rhymes. The album was great success, and even wound up on our Best Albums of 2016 list, coming in at number 12.

Briggs performed earlier in the day at the Gobi Tent. Banks and Steelz’s set will be streamed via Youtube here at 5:00 PST.
