Night Things has released a new music video for their song “Cost of the Summer” and the visual are beautiful. The video features choreography by Ryan Heffington, who has done choreography for artists like Sia, FKA Twigs, Arcade Fire and many others. The band consists of Maize LaRue and Zach Shields, who both star in the video.
The video starts off with a filter that make many remember what the TV screen would look like when a VHS tape was inserted. Following the opening, the first shot seen is a shot of what looks to be a field in the summer while 2 kids are walking around. The video then cuts to a Night Things group member standing in front of a mirror and begin to dance. LaRue is a talented and accomplished dancer, while Zach trained daily (and sometimes more!) for six months to get on her level for the video.
The choreography comes into play when the Night Things group member stand on the other side of a glass window mimicking the movements of a woman on the other side. The cinematographers Mathew Chavez and Chris Voutsinas provide amazing shots of a relatively simple set.
Watch the video below and be on the look out for new music from Night Things.
Shields spent time in Dead Man’s Bones, the group that is known for featuring Ryan Gosling.
