Com Truise, the nom-de-guerre of American electro artist Seth Haley, has announced a third studio album, Iteration. It’s been a bit of a long time coming for Haley, who last released an LP as Com Truise in the summer of 2012 – In Decay. However, fans of the musician were given a taste of what he has been up to when he released an EP titled Silicon Tare last spring. This new LP will be released on June 16 through Ghostly International.
One influence of the album is the struggle Haley faced as an East Coast transplant to the city of Los Angeles. He admits that while he tries to avoid his personal life holding a swaying influence over his music, it inevitably found its way into his writing and arranging. “It’s basically like I’m scoring this film in my head, but that film I’m scoring is also somehow my life,” he said. While he transitioned to life in L.A., the electronic musician from New Jersey discovered that simply putting “more air, more breathing room” into the music led to a new period of creativity and Iteration was quickly born.
Along with the album announcement comes a great new song, “Memory,” a haunting and relatively sparse nugget of synthwave. Check out the song below:
