Diana Ross @ ACL Live Moody Theater 7/6

One of the most iconic female voices of all time, Diana Ross, will be making a stop in town during her In The Name of Love Tour. Ross was born in Detroit, Michigan, she currently resides in Los Angeles, California. The superstar is a singer, actress and record producer. Over the years, she has won many awards from the Grammy’s, People’s Choice Awards and American Music Awards. At the age of 73, Ross is still carrying out her legend.

Ross started out her career in the 60s as the lead singer of The Supremes. The Supremes are one of the best gal groups and one of the best acts that came from Motown. “You Can’t Hurry Love,” “Baby Love” and “Stop! In The Name of Love” are just a few of the group’s most famous songs. Ross left the group in 1970 to begin on her solo career.

After leaving The Supremes, Ross proved to the world that she could continue. Her singles and albums were constantly getting recognition as #1’s and landed many times on Billboard’s charts. diana is Ross’ most successful album that was released in 1980. “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough,” “Why Do Fools Fall In Love,” “I’m Coming Out” and “Upside Down” are just a few of her hits from her solo career. On top of her solo career, she began acting in films in 1971. She received several best actress awards from the Golden Globes and Academy Awards.

Brooke Vega: Born and raised in Texas, Brooke grew up in a small town on the outskirts of Austin. She is a senior at Texas State University majoring in public relations with a minor in photography. Besides school, Brooke spends a lot of time writing about one of her truest loves, music. She writes articles as the Austin Scene Reporter at mxdwn and a music journalist for KTSW 89.9. You can often find her at many shows in Austin. Most of Brooke's music consists of psychedelic, surf rock, beach goth, dream pop and of course, the oldies. Brooke plans to further her career in the music industry hoping to work for a big company while doing photography work as well. She believes it's truly an honor to be writing about the music scene in the greatest live music capitol of the world.
