Pilgrimage Music & Cultural Festival announced its 2017 lineup including a headlining appearance by Memphis native and partial owner and producer for Pilgrimage: Justin Timberlake. This will mark Timberlake’s Pilgrimage headlining debut at the festival and will also include Pearl Jam frontman, Eddie Vedder. Pilgrimage is returning for it’s third year this September 23rd and 24th in Franklin, Tennessee. Other performances include Ryan Adams, Avett Brothers, Marty Stuart and His Fabulous Superlatives, Shovels & Rope and Amanda Shires.
Pilgrimage recently celebrated their lineup news with a “Launch Lunch” at the Factory in Franklin which included a performance by The Shadowboxers and gave festival producers (Kevin Griffin and Brandt Wood) the chance to discuss their vision for this year’s festival. Griffin and Wood are hoping that going into the festival’s third year (along with Timberlake’s massive fan base) will mean 2017 is the year they sell out the festival for the first time.
“Festivals that have been around for decades worry every year about how their festival is going to sell, and we’re no different,” said Wood. “But we book with the idea that the festival is going to make for a great story, and it’s going to create some ticket movement, and we’re seeing that already today, by the way.”
Tickets are on sale now via www.pilgrimagefestival.com. 2-day passes are $175, and a 2-day “VIP Village” pass (which includes special viewing areas, open bars, parking, a “culinary experience” and more) is $725.
