The lineup for the 10th anniversary of San Francisco’s Outside Lands Festival has just been announced and will feature some of music’s biggest names. Headliners include rock legends The Who, heavy metal juggernauts Metallica and the rarity of an appearance from the Gorillaz. For a full line up listing and festival flyer see below.

Outside Lands has reached to the sky to bring down some of musics biggest stars to assemble a monumental lineup. Aside from the headlining perfection the line up features acts like Lorde, Fleet Foxes, Queens of the Stone Age, alt-J, Solange, A Tribe Called Quest, Little Dragon, Belle and Sebastian, The Avett Brothers, Above & Beyond, Tove Lo, Action Bronson, Thundercat and so much more. In the recent drought of dependable festival lineups this is a refreshing glass of talented performers, watch the lineup announcement video below.

Outside Lands is set to take place on August 11 and run for two days in the historic Golden Gate Park. Tickets go on sale this Thursday, April 6, for all regular priced 3-day and VIP passes at 10am PT via the festivals site, here. This is one of the rare festivals anywhere in the world that will sell out immediately after their lineup announcement and ticket release. The proof is in their history that includes six consecutive sellouts to date, so mark down April 6.

Known as the world’s original gourmet music festival, Outside Lands offers a variety of culinary options to its ticket holders. This year the festival will include more than 80 Bay Area restaurants, 40+ Northern California wineries, close to 30 west coast breweries and a collection of the region’s best cocktail bars.

Since its establishment ten years ago, Outside Lands has become an annual tradition for the Bay Area that generates over $70 million annually. To accompany this vast income, they employ over 4,850 people from within and around the area. They are also a festival that prides it self in diverting more waste than any other festival of this magnitude. They have a very impressive 91% rate from last years waste that consisted of reusable, recyclable and compostable materials.

Ryan Fricke: Music is my therapy, which I could not function without. I am currently finishing my senior year a Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers, Florida with a Journalism major and a Creative Writing Minor. I first realized I wanted to become a Music Journalist the minute I learned that I could get paid to do the two things I love most, writing and listening to music. I have yet to decide which I am more infatuated with but for the time being I will happily house them to their stalemate. My plans after graduation are unclear but I hope to further gain experience in this profession.
