Mount Kimbie paired up with old band mate James Blake to release a huge song and visual called “We Go Home Together.” The track is the first single released for their new album due later this year, as of now there is no set date. Kai and Dom of Mount Kimbie spoke during a press release about working with their former band mate, “It’s a pleasure to work with old friend and one time band mate James Blake again.”
The song is held together by a simple organ and tambourine, peppered by desperate yet beautiful vocals from James Blake. It is a simple but effect love song about longing and acceptance. The visuals are an amazing array of cut scenes overlaid by projected images that are pasted against walls in the background. The director used prominent visual effects and let the simple imagery of a lonely man depict the sense of separation and longing. Overall the combination of the single and video is enough to excite fans for what should be an amazing upcoming album.
The band also used the press release to announce a series of new NTS Radio shows for their residency. The shows will include guests from a laundry list of great artist including, Julia Holter, James Blake, Oumou Sangare, Connan Mockasin, Savages, Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith, Moses Sumney, Ash Koosha and more. This is very exciting for fans of the show and also gives us a notion of how hard these guys are working. Another sign that the group has no plans slowing down is the announcement of two jam-packed months of touring across the U.S. and Canada. The tour dates can be found below.
