The Sword @ Underground Arts 5/18

Metal rock band The Sword is coming to the Underground Arts venue this summer. The Sword has been a focal point in the evolution of heavy metal. Often compared to the likes of Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin, The Sword is one of the best bands in the world.  Since their beginning, The Sword has released five albums, High Country being their last.

Hailing from Texas, The Sword broke into the music scene in 2003. The band released their debut album, Age of Winter, in 2006 under Kemado Records. The debut album gave The Sword a huge fan base which led them to perform at South by Southwest festival in 2005. The Sword also headlined a few tour with other famous metal bands in support of their new album. The Sword’s first chart-topping album didn’t come until their second album, Gods of the Earth. The album was released in April 2008, which debuted on Billboard 200. Like the first album, The Sword headlined their own tour in support of their second album. Later in the year, The Sword was the opening act for Metallica.

Not many bands can achieve such success as The Sword. The Sword has pushed their way through all the mainstream metal music and carved their own path. Although it has been a while since the release of their last album, you can be sure there is new music on the way.
