Alternative rock band Redd Kross comes to the Philadelphia area in May for a special show. Over the years, the band had multiple names such as Red Cross and The Tourist. Since their beginning in 1980, Redd Kross has been a staple in the rock genre. Redd Kross first broke up in 1997 but got back together in 2004. Redd Kross’ last album was back in 2012 called Researching The Blues.
Over the years, the band has had various members come and go throughout the band’s career. The west coast based band released their first self-titled EP in 1980. Four years later, the band released their second EP, Teen Babies from Monsanto featuring an all-star cast of singers and rock stars. Redd Kross’ first studio album, Neurotica in 1987. The album gained a lot of positive reviews for its weird theme of Saturday mornings. The band toured a lot during their first years to gain some buzz. In 1990, Redd Kross left Big Time Records to join Atlantic Records. During the height of MTV, Redd Kross saw a heavy rotation of their music being played on tv.
After disbanding in 2004, Redd Kross did their first live performance in 2006. The band toured throughout the US playing songs from their best album, Neurotica. The band played at Azkena Festival in Spain and then Detour Festival later that same year. Their limited show tour included L.A., New York, and Chicago. After all these years, Redd Kross is still going strong and show no sign of stopping.
