WATCH: Ice-T Releases New Video for “Black Hoodie”

Rapper turned actor Ice-T has returned to the music business to provide fans with new music and a new video. This generation knows Ice-T as detective Fin from Law & Order Special Victims Unit. But, old school hip hop fans know him to be one of the most controversial artists that hip hop has ever seen. His recent release follows along with this same theme. Ice-T and his group, Body Count, have chosen the police to be the subject of their new video “Black Hoodie”. The rap/metal band uses this track as an introduction to the group sixth studio album Bloodlust reported by ROLLINGSTONE. 

Ice-T has been around for a while so it makes sense as to why he opens the new song by saying, “”All these people out here tripping off police brutality like this shit is something new,” he goes on to say, “Give me a fucking break I’ve been talking about this shit for over 20 years. And now you can kill a motherfucker just because of how he’s dressed. Are you fucking serious?”. In reference to the numerous incidents the have went viral in the past few years.

Ice-T has long been known for his controversial take on issues that are near and dear to his heart. Back in the 90s Ice-T was now as a west coast gangsta rapper. Ice and Body Count released a song titled “Cop Killer” which lead to them being blamed for numerous deaths of police officers.
