They’ve been around for a while and now they have deemed 2017 the year that they will return to the spotlight once again. Gorillaz has announced that they will be releasing a new album in a unique way, group member Damon Albarn revealed to a fan a number of upcoming events to look out for, but specifically he revealed that they have completed a new album that is soon to be released. Previously before this reveal, Gorillaz released their first new song in almost 6 years titled “Hallelujah Money“. The British born band takes the opportunity to use the political climate in the west as inspiration. But, like many albums this one has suffered from the unstoppable force that we call the internet. Earlier this week, the track list to their upcoming album leaked and it revealed that fans have a few things to look forward to when it comes to the album.
For a long time, fans of Gorillaz have been teased with small details of the upcoming album but nothing concrete has been presented until now. According to FADER, Gorillaz announced that the title of the new album will be Humanz and will be available everywhere on April 28th. Not one to leave their fans feeling cheated, Gorillaz has released four new songs ahead of the release of their new album. The songs are accompanied by the beloved animated style of presentation that Gorillaz is known to use. “Saturn Barz”, “We’ve Got The Power”, “Ascension”, and “Andromeda” each represent previews of the highly anicipated return of Gorillaz to the stage.
