Rapper Lil B or better known as The BasedGod, a Bay area treasure, will be performing at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium on May 20th. As a rapper he has gained fame through his solo career, his partnership with the Bay based rap group The Pack, and his insane twitter/social media presence. His performance will be a part of the Berner Presents Hippie Hill night. His performance will be alongside other acts such as headliner Berner, Kevin Gates, Young Dolph, Jesse Royal, Kool John, and Rich The Kid.
Lil B is known worldwide through his amazing twitter presence, which is full of fun motivational messages and other various thoughts, but his music is where it’s at. His music is like his twitter feed is full of motivational messages or fun hyphy songs. Lil B has put out one studio album, 2011’s Rain In England, which has a solid presence on Spotify. The songs Birth To Life, Everything, and Love Is Strange are good songs from that album. What’s great about his music is that, especially on this album, the topics are various and diverse. Birth To Life has a serene track layered with Lil B rapping about the beauty of birth, the power of women, and the amazement he has for the experience of birth. Lil B has also been featured on various songs and has also put out a ton of mixtapes and digital album that can be found online. Some of his other notable works are the hyphy songs like Bitch Mob Anthem, Vans, and My House. Songs he’s featured on include Gucci Mane’s Rolling Stone, Mac Miller’s Time Flies, and Lil Wayne’s Grove St. Party Freestyle.
Fans of Riff Raff, Chance The Rapper, and E-40 will be into this rapper or just those who want to read a great uplifting tweet every once and awhile will be a fan. Lil B is doing something that isn’t be done right now. He has this charismatic, earnest, and free persona and this is reflective in his raps. So, my dudes, support your local artists and make sure you don’t end up with a curse like KD did and catch this show!
