The grandson of a black, female WWII pilot, he graduated high school with a GPA of 3.7 and had prospects to attend Michigan State. His esteemed grandmother gradually saved money for his college education which he invested in studio time. A wise move given the rare opportunity that would later come and change his life forever.
While frequently appearing at a prominent Detroit radio station, he ran into Kanye West and pleaded for his time. Thankfully, Yeezus blessed him with several minutes of his precious time and was impressed with Big Sean skills.
His forthcoming mixtapes impressed audiences and soon after the impromptu audition with West himself, he got a call from Kim’s better half and was signed to his label. Under formal representation, he released his first LP I Decided.
I Decided received decent reviews and earned Big Sean the fame you know him for today. The Detroit native will be at the Fillmore Jackie Gleason Theater Miami Beach this April touring the album and showing you a great time.
