Vans Warped Tour Announces 2017 Lineup Featuring Gwar, Sick of It All and Watsky

Following an extended one and a half hour lineup announcement party, Vans Warped Tour has announced its lineup for 2017. One of the strongest lineups this traveling alternative music festival has offered in nearly a decade includes artists like Gwar, Hatebreed, Watsky, CKY, Save Ferris, Candiria, Sick of it All, Carnifex, Big D and the Kids Table, The Adolescents, The Ataris, T.S.O.L., Anti-Flag, Strung Out, Valient Thorr and more. Founder and organizer Kevin Lyman mentioned during the announcement that this lineup was an attempt by the festival to return to their roots. The festival skewed more towards the emocore and metalcore that became the taste de jour of its fan-base over the last few years, but this year finds several names that would fit in well (and perhaps even appeared) at the 1995 premiere of this seminal punk festival.

Earlier this week, the lineup for Warped Tour 2017 leaked, with the stages for bands performing at the Cincinnati, OH stop on July 19th. Lyman addressed the leak during the announcement party, stating that his company had identified the person responsible for the leak and that they had been given the opportunity to come clean but denied the allegations and had to be fired.

There are plenty of alternative genres represented with this year’s Warped Tour, including ska (Suicide Machines, Goldfinger, Streetlight Manifesto, Big D and the Kids Table), hardcore (Sick of It All, Candiria, BlesstheFall, Hatebreed) and punk (The Ataris, Anti-Flag, Strung Out) and much more.
