KAYTRANADA @ The Fox Theater 4/17

Sometimes the stars and planets align creating celestial stories with shining illustrations we can see.  Sometimes these stories and illustrations are right here on planet earth either in a physical or sonic force.  Louis Kevin Celestin is this light, this star, even a planet that is home to the breathing life form of music.  Born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti his family relocated to Montreal, Quebec where he began to fall in love with music.  By age 14 Kaytranada had was DJing locally and practicing at home, at 15 his brother introduced him to FL Studios and so began his life as a producer who has only recently cracked the surface of his career with an event horizon that when it seems to be in reach is propelled further out due to his creativity and artistic ability.

2012 saw the Phoenix that was Kaytradamus fall to ashes.  KAYTRANADA was the rebirth of not only his name but of his career.  In 2014 Kaytranada signed an exclusive recording deal with XL Recordings and began to work on his long awaited debut album.  99.9% was released in May of 2016 and was met with open arms as the album boasted dreamy, out of this world production with a  supporting cast that highlights Kaytra’s sonic diversity which includes GoldLink, Anderson .Paak, AlunaGeorge and Vic Mensa just to name a few .  Now with 13 total projects released and 41 remixes and counting, Kaytranada is continuing his rise into the cosmos where his gravitational pull holds music in orbit, enabling him able to reach and pull from an endless supply of talent and inspiration.

From time to time we as humans seek asylum.  We seek it through film, through writing, through painting and KAYTRANADA lends us his land of protection through his music.  Join him at the Fox Theater here in Los Angeles on Monday April, 17 when his show comes to Los Angeles, separating his showcases at Coachella.
