Burger Boogaloo Closing Party @ Eli’s Mile High Club 7/2

Give a kickass farewell to your favorite festival Burger Boogaloo at the Closing Party at the much loved Eli’s Mile High Club. It will be the after party for the last day of the festival. So, come say goodbye to this favorite punk festival with the performers Apache, Sam Flex, Sarah Bethe Nelson, and Friendless Summer.

Burger Boogaloo is known for the awesome punk acts that go on during the festival, but these after parties have been quality as well. Apache, a “heavy pop” band with Bay origins, is one of the performers for the closing party. They have fun vibes that remind their audiences of a mix of old 60s rock and a little beach rock. Another performer, Sam Flex, is a Burger Records act and adds a bit of versatility to this lineup. Sam Flex’s sound is more of an electro-punk type of sound and remind me a bit of Crystal Castles or The xx. The third artist to perform is Sarah Bethe Nelson, another Burger Records product. Her sound is a nice reminiscent of 90s rock, but also ties in with Sam Flex’s slow-core style. Lastly, Friendless Summer rounds out the lineup for this closing party. Friendless Summer is the solo project by musician Jack Brown. His style of music falls perfectly into this lineup; musically the music is a fun keyboard and vocals combination. His lo-fi music and vocal style is reminiscent of 80s rock. This lineup for this farewell party, to me, is one of the best of the three nights.

Burger Boogaloo is an event many wait for all year round. It’s fun, free, and full of diverse punk acts. The festival reminds its audience of the ever evolving genre. These after parties are a perfect way to end your day and your experiences. So make the trek into Oakland and hit up Eli’s for a weekend to remember.
