Is there anything Virgin doesn’t do?
Virgin Media’s annual music festival, the V Festival, is back again with another exciting lineup for fans. Founded by man/myth/legend Richard Branson, the festival has been going strong since 1996 and has been notorious not only for its big-name lineups but also its scale. The festival has traditionally been held in two separate parks simultaneously, with artists performing at one venue on Saturday then flipping on Sunday.
The England-based festival has pretty much hosted any big name you can think of. From The Red Hot Chili Peppers to James Brown to Maroon 5 and Beyonce, if they’ve been on the radio they’ve probably played at VFestival.
This year doesn’t seem to disappoint as Jay-Z, Dizzee Rascal and Steve Aoki are all slated for headlining the 2017 iteration.
While Jay-Z has been somewhat inactive lately musically (minus the amazing track with DJ Kahlid and Yonce herself), it was just recently announced that he will be inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame, the first rapper to do so.
Dizzee Rascal, in addition to VFestival, will also be at the Electric Fields festival this year.
