Chicago’s own Fruit Bats set to perform at Schuba’s on May 11th. The series of shows is quite unique in that only the first half of the set is planned. The other half will be created by requests from fans which is an awesome concept (if you ask me).
The rock band formed in the city in 1997 and were one of the earliest groups in the now popular folk-rock genre. Singer/songwriter Eric D. Johnson along with members Sam Wagster, Ron Lewis, Graeme Gibson and Christopher Sherman released the group’s sixth studio album last year titled Absolute Loser.
Michael Nau will join Fruit Bats onstage during this stop on the tour. Nau’s latest album “Mowing” is out now.
I’ve been familiar with this group since 2010. I started a new job and the phone at my new desk had a Fruit Bats sticker on it. I wonder if there are any songs that are off limits…
