Joe Goddard has released a video for the song “Home,” from his upcoming solo LP Electric Lines. “Home” is the third track to be released from his solo debut, following on the heels of “Music Is The Answer.” The producer/musician is best known for his role in the influential British electronic pop band Hot Chip, for which he provided vocals and synthesizers. He is also a member of The 2 Bears along with Raf Rundell of 1965 Records.
The video has a positive vibe and is based around revelers arrive home after a late night out hitting the clubs. This theme is a reaction to the recent crackdowns on nightclubs across the globe like DIY spaces such as Shea Stadium in New York City to the infamous temporary closure of famed London club Fabric. The video is also intended to represent the fact that the dance floor is a place to exchange ideas and spend time with people from all over the globe.
Check out the video below:
The title of Goddard’s debut, Electric Lines, has a double meaning. Firstly, it refers to the colored cables that run between all of his synthesizer modules. Secondly, it refers to the invisible common threads that run between all genres and styles of electronic music. It will be released on April 21, 2017 through Domino Records. There are several versions available, including a signed deluxe edition heavyweight vinyl package. This double record includes a wide-spined sleeve and an additional 12″ that includes a trio of bonus tracks that are pulled from the album’s sessions.
