The Pennsylvania pop-punk outfit, Beach Slang, has just released a video for their track “Spin the Dial” off of their latest album A Loud Bash of Teenage Feelings, released last year. The video was direct by Jason Lester and shot on California’s beautiful Long Beach. It follows three girls in the prime of their youth on a journey that seems to be the summer vacation that many people are dreaming of right about now. The adventure begins in a skate shop and follows the girls as they roller blade, dance, spin and smile all through Long Beach, making stops at the liquor store and the beach. The carefree feeling that these three beach babes portray is accompanied with a retro setting and directing tactic used by Lester to make this video a very uniquely cool and happy work of art. The video ends as the frame highlights a message on the skate shop’s window to “discover yourself with roller skating!” The video can be seen below.
Beach Slang is currently on a very extensive and lengthy tour to spread their unique style of punk rock with fans. They are slotted for six shows at this years SXSW Festival that is currently taking place. Their appearances will be from the 15 to the 17 at the Waterloo Records Day Party, Taco Bell Feed the Beat, Brooklyn Vegan Party, Polyvinyl Party, Pitchfork Party and Spin Party in that order. Following these shows, the tour essentially has the band playing a show every other day, if not every. They will be performing along side Jimmy Eat World and Minus the Bear for a handful of these shows.
