American rock band Portugal. The Man came under criticism from right wing conspiracy theorist Alex Jones after the band released music video that seemingly took jabs at him and his conservative/conspiracy “news” website called Info Wars. In the music video for “Feel it Still,” a newspaper titled “Info Wars” is set ablaze following a number of other more subtle symbols, in resistance against oppressing forces. Unhappy with the music video, Jones took to his site Info Wars to write an article slandering the indie group, with “Pro-Soros Rockers” plastered in the headline. The negative press from Jones, however, had little to no effect on Portugal. The Man, who even released an interactive video that goes along with the music video where you can click to find all of the politically charged symbols splattered throughout the music video. Once listeners click on the video during the Info Wars scene, they will be directed to a website called AdStrike, where they aim to combat “Hate Speech/Fake News.”
Portugal. The Man will be on the road this Spring as they announced their upcoming tour dates earlier in January and recently scrapped music from Gloomin + Doomin in order to revert their focus to their upcoming album entitled Woodstock.
