DJ supergroup Soulwax recently released a new song called “My Tired Eyes” and the vibe is a cross between 007 spy music with old western gun standoff twang. The opening immediately grabs the listeners’ attnetion with a fast paced snare drum and suddenly slows down once the vocals come in — causing a slight shift in tone while managing to remain catchy as hell. The song lasts about five minutes but it’ll feel like two after getting lost in the hazy lyrics of “My Tired Eyes.” Check out the song below to hear the entire thing for yourself.
Soulwax also released a music video for their new song “Missing Wires,”, each coming from their new album. Deewee is set to drop later this month and will be the first album out of the groups’ recording studio in over ten years. Their most recent project was last year when they released a soundtrack for Belgica in March.
The band has released additional songs “Transient Program For Drums And Machinery,” the eighth track from the album and “Prayer to Saint Therese.” Soulwax will also be performing at the Blue-Dot Festival in July this year alongside fellow headliners Orbital, and Alt-J.
The band’s most recent studio album before Deewee was called Nite Versions and was released more than a decade ago, in 2005. Stay on the lookout for their upcoming album to see what’s new with the sound of Soulwax.
