BANKS @ Electric Factory 6/2

Banks is riding high off the latest album, The Altar, from 2016. Banks makes her way to the Electric Factory this spring performing hits from her second album.  Banks might best known for her hit songs like “Waiting Game”, “Beggin For Thread”, and “Brain”.  Banks is currently finishing her second solo concert.

Julian Rose Banks has been singing since the age of 15. After attending USC for psychology, Banks was into contact with Good Years Recordings. In just a few weeks, Banks released “Before I Met You” on her Soundcloud.  The song was so well received, the song managed to make it on the radio. In 2014, Banks was named to the iTunes of “New Artists of 2014” and on Spotify Spotlight of 2014. Before headling her own tour, Banks opened for The Weeknd on his 2013 tour and later his 2015 tour. Banks performed at the world famous Coachella festival in spring 2014. Banks continued to tour and perform at various shows around the world and on tv. Banks released her debut album, Goddess, in the fall of 2014. The album debuted at number 12 on Billboard 200. The single, “Beggin For Thread” reached number 11 on Billboard’s Alternative Songs chart. Most of the songs from the album were featured on popular tv shows as well.

In the past, Banks has been compared to great singers like Aaliyah and Ellie Goulding. Banks sound could be described as indie pop with a hint of dark R&B. Banks leave her heart on each song she does while keeping the mysterious vibe with her. Banks is sure a sight to see live. Don’t miss out!

Donovan Wilkins: Donovan Wilkins is a self-taught photographer and published writer. He lives in Glenside after moving from his hometown of Philadelphia. After studying Liberal Arts at CCP, he decided to focus his time on his writing and photography. In 2016, Donovan completed his first feature-length screenplay, The Coast is Clear. During his career, Donovan worked on a small budget film in Philadelphia as part of a writing team. Since then, he has written various short screenplays.
