Nicole Atkins is back in the studio and working to release her fourth studio recording in three years titled GOODNIGHT RONDA LEE. The album is to be released through her new label, Single Lock Records, and will be recorded in Fort Worth, Texas with Nile City Sound. The albums recording crew consists of some big name producers such as Chris Vivion (Leon Bridges) and Ben Tanner (Alabama Shakes) who will likely shape Atkins album into a huge charting hit. To promote the album Atkins will hit the road for a massive 22-show tour starting in Texas and nocking out major stop across the U.S. before finishing with an east coast run.
The album is best described as a vintage soul album with hints of folk and pop. When speaking about the album Single Lock label manager Reed Watson said, “Nicole’s reputation speaks for itself, but we believe this record sets the stage for even bigger things in an already remarkable career.” The album single “A little Crazy” is an instant classic that highlights Atkins effortless range and sleepy vibrato. The song released via Brooklyn Vegan was featured on Oscar winner Cameron Crowe’s 2016 Showtime series Roadies receiving rave reviews. Atkins who was discovered playing at her residency in Lower East Side Manhattan New York at the popular nightspot Piano’s, seems to be giving a nod to her time spent performing for small intimate crowds with the television performance.
