Alternative rock band Mark Lanegan Band just released a new gem called “Beehive” from their upcoming album Gargoyle and it’s sure to be one of the most popular with an upbeat and provocative sound that sounds a tad edgier than Lanegan’s old music.
The singer opened up about writing his music, and said “I definitely feel like I’m a better songwriting than I was 15 years ago. I don’t know if I’m just kidding myself or what, but it’s definitely easier now to make something that is satisfying to me. Maybe I’m just easier on myself these days, but it’s definitely not as painful a process, and therefore I feel I’m better at it now.”

Gargoyle is set to be released on April 18 via Heavenly Recordings and will feature artists such as Josh Homme, Greg Dulli and Duke Garwood. While Mark was in his studio in LA conceptualizing what he wanted his upcoming album to look like, English musician and friend Rob Marshall e-mailed him offering his collaboration efforts in return for Mark helping him with a previous project. Mark claimed that when he asked Rob, “I was like, Hey man, I’m getting ready to make a record, if you’ve got anything?’” Then “Three days later he sent me *10 things… !”
In the future, Mark Lanegan Band is booked to perform at the Pohoda Festival alongside Future Islands, and Alt-J.
