While you may be unfamiliar with her name, Amy Helm has been in the music industry for quite a while. The singer/songwriter started out with the altcountry group Ollabelle and then worked closely with her late father, music icon Levon Helm who was also a mentor to his daughter.
Amy released her first solo album, “Didn’t It Rain” in 2015. It is a very personal album for Helm as it was made during a rough time in her life. Levon played several tracks and worked as the executive producer on his daughter’s debut album. “He was the best teacher, in so many ways,” Amy says of her father.
The live performer is excited to get out on the road and play her music for the world. Make sure to check her out at City Winery May 14th.
