Soft rock and surf rock singer Jack Johnson is coming to Berkeley this summer! He will be playing the Greek Theatre on July 26th. He’s touring for his summer and his show will be opened by John Craigie.
A man of many talents, Jack Johnson is best known for his easy soft rock songs about kicking back, surfing, or love. His most recent work is his album From Here Now To You back in 2013 and even though it was a while ago his stuff is still absolutely perfect for a slow drive down to coast. The most notable songs from that album include I Got You, Home, and Washing Dishes. Previous to that, Johnson has put out five other albums. His other huge hits include a ton of songs from his 2005 album In Between Dreams, such as Better Together, Banana Pancakes, Sitting, Watching, Waiting, and Good People. Other great songs are Imagine, Flake, my personal favorite Upside Down, and Fragments. Johnson’s style is a folk rock combined with the perfect kind of surf rock. He keeps his songs mellow with a calming quality. His lyrics invokes the smell of the ocean, the feel of the sun, and just overall happy vibes. One thing that makes his music and whole persona special is that Johnson is really into environmental conservation, he performs at a lot of charity organizations that support the environment and the arts.
Fans of Colbie Caillat, Jason Mraz, and Slightly Stoopid will be down for this guy’s show. He’s playing two different shows at the Greek Theatre so try and catch one or both of them! He’s a treat to watch perform and listen to. Grab a ticket and you won’t regret it!
