The Jesus and Mary Chain Announce Spring 2017 Tour Dates

The Jesus and Mary Chain have just announced a North American addition to their already extensive European tour for spring of this year. The new addition to the tour will begin on May 9 in St. Paul, MN at The Palace and conclude in Vancouver, BC at the Vogue Theatre. The tour will land the UK veterans in major North American cities along the way, such as Chicago, Toronto, Brooklyn and Los Angeles. For a full list of tour dates and ticketing information, see below.

The entire European and North American outing is in support of the band’s soon to be released album, Damage and Joy, that will mark The Jesus and Mary Chain’s first in 18 years. The new record is set to be released on March 24 with great anticipation. Damage and Joy will be released via ADA/Warner Music and follows their 1998 LP Munki. According to Pitchfork, the album was recorded with producer Youth. It features the bands touring drummer Brian Young, ex-Lush bassist Phil King, and the before mentioned producer on bass. While the new work still remains with missing tracklisting, there has been two single releases for fans to snack on. The two singles are titled “Always Sad” and “Amputation,” seen below.

Ryan Fricke: Music is my therapy, which I could not function without. I am currently finishing my senior year a Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers, Florida with a Journalism major and a Creative Writing Minor. I first realized I wanted to become a Music Journalist the minute I learned that I could get paid to do the two things I love most, writing and listening to music. I have yet to decide which I am more infatuated with but for the time being I will happily house them to their stalemate. My plans after graduation are unclear but I hope to further gain experience in this profession.
