The Revolution @ Theatre of Living Arts 4/29 and 4/30

Behind every legend, there is a band backing him or her up. Prince had The Revolution since 1979. The multi-award winning group surprised fans all over the world when they announced tour dates for a few shows. After selling out the first shows in two hours, The Revolution added more tour dates and cities. The Revolution heads to the Theatre of Living Arts for a two-day show.

The Revolution is an American rock band founded by the music icon Prince. The band is famous for their unique sound with pop, funk, and psychedelia rock. During The Revolution’s career, they released two albums, two soundtracks, and two videos. The Revolution first found fame after the release Purple Rain, during that time selling over 16 million albums in the United States. Purple Rain earned the number one spot on the Billboard 200 albums chart. The Revolution consisted of different race and different backgrounds to give the band a unique sound. The album, Purple Rain, won two Grammys for Best Rock Performance by a Group or Duo and another one for Best Instrumental Composition Written Specifically for a Motion Picture or for Television.

The Revolution played a major part in some of the most popular Prince songs. The song, When Doves Cry, was the most successful on the Purple Rain album. It reached number one on Billboard Hot 100 at the time of release. Purple Rain would also be the first appearance of The Revolution band. After spending at least 5 months at the top of the charts, Purple Rain was certified over ten times platinum. The Revolution disbanded after creative differences in 1986. After the tragic death of founder Prince in 2016, The Revolution announced this reunion tour to honor him. The Revolution are not a band to miss!
