Third Eye Blind @ The Greek Theatre 7/23

Hometown heroes Third Eye Blind are coming home to The Bay and will be playing a show in Berkeley, the alma mater of their lead vocalist Stephan Jenkins. They will be playing The Greek Theatre on June 23rd. The band will be touring on their Summer Gods Tour alongside other rock acts The Silversun Pickups and Ocean Park Soundoff.

The inception of the rock band Third Eye Blind came in 1993 and unlike most bands they stayed independent until 1996 after the release of their debut album. The band’s roots are in independence and DIY old fashion rock/grunge variety. The band has enjoyed commercial and critical success for the better part of 20 years and their original hits are still hits to this day. Their most recent release was their 2016 EP We Are Drugs and their recent full album release was 2015’s Dopamine. Notable songs from both releases are Company of Strangers, Don’t Give In, and Queen of Daydreams from their EP and Everything Is Easy, Something In You, and Dopamine from their 2015 album. Previous to that, the band has put out four other albums which includes their self-titled debut from 1997 album which has some of their biggest hits to date. The band is responsible for the ever popular and timeless songs such as Jumper, Semi-Charmed Life, Never Let You Go, and How’s It Gonna Be. It’s crazy to think that these songs have been out for more than 15 years and are still played on the radio and in film/tv. Personally, my favorite songs apart from their classics are their singles Mine and Blinded.

Fans of Red Hot Chili Peppers, Matchbox Twenty, or New Politics will be down for this show and making it out to Cal for it. This show is going to be perfect for a fun summer night out and couple it with their amazing lineup of openers, it’s only gonna get better. This band is known for its infectious, fun, and energized shows, so, grab a ticket catch ya there.
