In this time of political discourse and unrest, it is important for people and their families to be educated on the world around them. Well, singer Ben Lee has answered this call to know and is releasing his album Ben Lee Sings Songs About Islam For The Whole Family. He has been working on the album for a few years, but with recent events, he felt inspired to release it urgently. This nine track album is best meant to enlighten and to human beings become more peaceful and loving creatures.
Ben’s music has seemed to best document his spiritual and psychological quest. Looking at his recently released work like such as Deeper into Dream, Ayahuasca: Welcome to the Work and last year’s Freedom, Love & the Recuperation of the Human Mind, featuring Sara Watkins and Grant Lee Phillips. He also released Love is the Great Rebellion just last year, and by just looking at the title’s alone, you can tell the vibe and messages his music is trying to convey. This album, on the other hand, seems to be the most ambitious in communicating such a time sensitive message. From his first acoustic-driven solo album Grandpaw Would in 1995 (featuring Liz Phair), Ben’s music has always attempted to take his most existential yearnings and put them into calming melodic pop songs.
The proceeds from this album, releasing March 3rd, will be going to ACLU, who are focused on the current Us. Legislators making laws against Islamic people enter or living freely in the U.S.
