The Internet @ The Fonda Theatre 3/20

In early 2011 music saw the emergence of a new wave “alternative R&B” group titled with the familiar and genius name of The Internet, formed by Odd Future members Syd the Kyd and Matt Martian.  Known for their unique sound, the band was signed to Odd Future and put out their first studio album “Purple Naked Ladies.”  The album saw Odd Future and The Internet engineer, Syd the Kyd, step out from behind the boards and lend her hand in the form of singer/song writer.  The Album wasn’t met with tremendous acclaim but was quietly one of the year’s most progressive and attention grabbing sounds.

On their third album, Ego Death, The Internet secured spots from notable emcees and singers such as Janelle Monae, Vic Mensa, and Odd Future’s own Tyler the Creator.  Ego Death made a splash as it was nominated for best Urban Contemporary Album.

The Internet is now on tour and will be swinging through their home town of Los Angeles when they’ll be playing at the Fonda Theatre on Monday March, 20th.
