Dawes Releases New Video for “Roll With The Punches” Featuring Mandy Moore

A self-described “American rock ‘n’ roll band,” Dawes has released a video clip for their new track “We’re All Gonna Die” starring frontman Taylor Goldsmith’s real life girlfriend Mandy Moore. The video shows an extreme physical representation of separation as Goldsmith and Moore hire a construction crew to cut all their stuff in half. The bed, the couch, the toaster, even the hair drier are all hacked into two equal pieces the two former lovers share forlorn looks. Director Daniel Henry is stating the video was inspired by a true story he heard. Which means it’s probably not meant to be a statement on Goldsmith and Moore’s actual relationship.

“I got the idea for the video after I read a true story about a disgruntled German man whose 12-year marriage ended tragically,” he told EW. “He quite literally split all of their belongs in two, in a vindictive-yet-beautiful move that inspired the video. The whole idea made me laugh at its extreme pettiness, but ended up perfectly representing the process of moving on.”

In addition to the new video, Dawes have also released a brand new live album which was recorded during the first four shows of their current tour. The streaming-only album is called We’re All Gonna Live and includes a phone number on the album art which currently connects to a Google Voice mailbox, so feel free to leave the band a message.
