Passion Pit frontman, Michael Angelakos, has plan in the works for a company to support artists in ways that labels typically don’t by providing legal, educational and healthcare services according to Mashable.

The Wishart Group has raised a massive 250 million in funding already. Located in New York the company is bringing in huge investments from big names in the music and tech industries. Comprised of tech leaders across an array of fields ranging from music distribution to the artificial intelligence community, the project is growing rapidly. Dubbed as an “Artist Research and Protection Service” the company is narrowing its focus on mental health programs for musicians.

Diagnosed with bipolar disorder at the age 17, Angelakos, used his experiences growing up as a musician with the condition as a driving force behind and motivation for the company. His vision is to give the opportunity for artists who need help, to get it. During his time leading Passion Pit, Angelakos suffered from bouts of bipolar episodes that caused the canceled tour dates and unannounced hiatus’s.  In 2015 he came out as gay and describe the mental struggle he endured that accumulated from being a famous musician in the spotlight.

The company will provide metal health service that labels don’t directly deliver. Artists are given money to develop their albums and are often overlooked or forgotten about in regards to their mental and physical condition. Angelakos aims to eliminate this void of support and give artists an opportunity to learn about their rights, get care when need and overall have an organization that fully provides support.

Staying quiet Angelakos has made little mention on the company besides rumors he will be announcing the company sometime this week. Oh and in the rare case that you have never heard Michael Angelakos and his amazing band Passion Pit, here you go, and you’re welcome.
